10 Simple High chair safety tips you should know to keep the child safe.

Do you have a high chair? If so, you probably use it daily like millions of other mothers around the world.
But besides merely buckling the straps, have you ever given much thought to safety?
Although there are thousands of injuries due to misuse of a high chair every year, it doesn’t mean that they are unsafe. To prevent this, it’s important to take certain precautions when using a high chair or booster seat.

Tips for Safe Use

Here are some tips for making sure that your baby is always safe in their high chair.
  1. Never leave your child unattended in the high chair.
  2. Never allow other children to climb or play on the high chair.
  3. Always use the high chair's safety straps.
  4. Always use the crotch strap to ensure your child doesn't slip forward, causing serious injury or death.
  5. Do not place your child's high chair near a counter or table: Because of the height of the high chair, your child can push off these surfaces and tip the high chair.
  6. If you use a folding high chair, make sure it's properly locked in place before using it and properly locked closed (or stored out of baby's reach) to avoid injuries.
7.      Make sure the high chair cannot be tipped over easily.
  1. Test your high chair and ensure that it is stable to the ground and can handle a few wriggles. The best high chairs have 4 feet touching the ground or a wide stable base. If your high chair has wheels make sure that they are firmly locked.
  2. Establish a routine of using the high chair only for means. Do not let it be used for playtime.
  3. Before and after buying a high chair or toys, periodically check for recalls.
